My romantic dream of exploring the ancient wonders of Egypt included a felucca on the nile leisurely meandering from temple to tomb in the style of early 20th century explorers, but perhaps without the camels.
My reality….not so much.
Since our Egypt stop was a mere 2 days, I scheduled as much as I could fit into this short time, but alas the best laid plans….. We got into port six hours late. My 13 hour day one tour of the West Bank: the Valley of the Kings, Hapshepsut’s Temple, Deer El Medina and Habu Temple turned into seven hours on a bus (yes, 3-1/2 each way,) 2 hours exploring tombs in the Valley of the Kings and Luxor Temple by night. We got back late and I just can’t wait to get up in 5 hours and crawl back on that bus for a return to Luxor.
