Last night we anchored just outside the restricted area for the Baths on Virgin Gorda.  It was another rolly night – I decided to change my strategy and sleep sideways on my berth.  It helped a bit  but I could never stretch out.

We had a long and slightly scary swim ashore to the Baths this morning on Virgin Gorda.  Pulled ourselves up out of the churning water to a lovely granite grotto with a short stretch of beach.  There is a “slightly challenging trek” through the boulders to Devil’s Cay (what they were calling the swimming area.  The boulders, some the size of small houses covered several small whirl pooling areas where the surf came in and eddied around.  We bouldered our way inside and across them to the other area.  Not much of a swimming area.  Small, deep really fast and lots of water action – waves and current.

We saw someone try to get close to shore with their dinghy.  The surf brought them right up onto the sand, the guy gunned the outboard motor and the girl jumped out just in time for the boat to swing around on top of her and graze her arm with the prop.  We yelled at the guy to cut the engine which he finally did.

It’s my turn to fix dinner so it’s Taquito night with Fiesta salad.
