Lots and lots of shiny stuff here in Dubai. Gold, glass, steel, water. Today I got an eyeful.
First, the Burj Khalifa did not disappoint. Twice as tall as the Empire State Building, it has 163 floors. The 124th, 125th and 148th floors have observation decks but the 148th floor deck has been closed during covid. After my visit to the 124th and 125th floors, I’m not sure I would have been able to tell the difference at 148.

The Dubai Mall sits at the foot of the Burj Khalifa. It is currently the second largest mall in the world by total area. It houses two large aquariums, specialty shops I never knew existed, food of every imaginable region, and a restaurant that has food on conveyor belts that cruise past you table so that you can snag what you want.
