Up early this morning to get to the airport where a small passenger plane is waiting to take us up to see Mount Everest. I had come too far NOT to see it. We after about 25 minutes it was in sight. We flew over the very tall foothills but not the high peaks. Miles of incredible scenery then our not quite “fly by.” Instead up along side, a 180 and back to Kathmandu.
Back to the bazaar this afternoon. There is a national festival going on that has brought big crowds to city center. We stopped to have a drink in a rooftop bar. I took a picture of the main street below filled with motorcycles. My favorite part was the NO PARKING signs that the bikes were obscuring
The food here is not as tasty as in India so we’re off to a Korean restaurant for dinner. This won’t be a late night. I have an early call at the airport for my 5 hour flight to Kuala Lumpur followed by a 5 hour flight to Tokyo, and 8-hour layover then final to LA.
