Actually, no blisters (knock wood) but my feet are feeling it.  just over 8 miles walking today.

Back on the train to Penn Station this morning.  My plan was to go to the observation platform on the Empire State Building but it was windy and a little rainy so I decided this should be my museum day.

My trek took me through Times Square.  I had to navigate a forest of Elmo’s to get to Madam Toussaud’s Wax Museum.  It’s mostly interactive now.

I guess I should finally decide whether I’m on team Edward….

or team Jacob.  (if you don’t know what that means, ask Julie)

They had a 4-D movie with Marvel superheroes.  I have always wondered about whether I could stomach a 3-D movie.  I figured I should be able to handle a 10-minute show.  Not only did it have the visuals with the 3D glasses, I got sprayed with water, blown at by wind and poked by my seat at times to enhance what was on screen.

MoMA was next.  I saw a nice selection of some familiar work by Van Gogh, Monet, Chegal, Gougain, Rothko, Picasso, Pollack and others I’ve heard of , many more I had not.  Some very interesting some just strange.  A few you might recognize…

Another trip to Central Park because that’s where the Metropolitan Museum of Art lives.  I only saw a quarter of the exhibits here.  I took in the Chinese, Japanese, Byzantine art, and the Masters.

Finally, I found a bus headed south on Fifth Avenue. I jumped out at Rockefeller Center and headed for the observation deck on the 86th floor.  The elevator had a glass ceiling so you could see the shaft.  I wasn’t counting, but I don’t think it took 40 seconds to get to the top.  It was raining a little harder now but I tried to get pictures through the mist.

I think you can just see the Statue of Liberty in this last one.  If it’s dry tomorrow, that’s where I’ll be.
